Genealogy My husband says it's "okay"; I like it a little more
First, let me just say my husband loves having father-baby girl time and bonding with her. That said, he didn't like the fact that this book encourages things like daddy feeding a new infant with a bottle, or putting a young infant to sleep if they are used to nursing to sleep. There are lots of other ways for dad to enjoy baby time...changing, bathing, story time, play time, napping, going for a walk, putting to sleep after nursing.

I thought it was pretty good since it does discuss what to expect with the baby, with mommy, and with yourself (daddy) each month.

Genealogy boring as hell!!
This book sucked. If you are looking for a book to be a good dad, get "Be Prepared" .. it is short, to the point, and funny.

This is dull reading. Me being an overzealous expecting 1st time nervous dad picked this up due to glowing reviews.. SNOOZE!!

Be prepared covered EVERYTHING I have come across, even marital stress, and offered advice to help deal. This on the otherhand is just helping me weigh down my bookshelf, so that if a tornado hits, my other worthwhile books arent blown away.

Genealogy Fabulous book!
I reviewed this book before my purchase as a gift to my son in law. He's about to become a father...The contents are comprehensive and full of very good tips and insights along each stage of development...I'll give you the full review after he reads it all...

Genealogy He Has The Experience And The Ability
Easily out does any of the fathering books on the market. It is to the point, smart, funny and accepting. It gives direction and guidence without attitude. I appreciate the author's style and the ease at which I can quickly read the book. It is a book written for men, by a man (no co-authors) with plenty of children (unlike some books touting expertise without substance) and experience. Outstanding.

Genealogy Thanks from the temporarily reluctant dad!!!!!!!!
Well, I really think I needed this book. I was anxious to say the least but when the baby arrived, i had no idea what to expect or what to do. My wife's books did not apply to me. I had a lot of mixed feelings about the whole thing but could not tell anyone about it. Dr. Goldman's book was the only one that seemed to let me feel what I wanted or needed to feel. I wasn't filled with joy automatically. A lot of people have been attacked for having one feeling or another or not having certain feelings-especially in the delivery room. I am in love with my baby now but I'm glad that it's ok to let those feelings develop without the guilt. That's not to say that the book is full of doom and gloom--it's NOT--it was ME that was full of doom and gloom...at first. There were some things in the book that made it ok for me to have mixed thoughts for a while. The book was a breath of honest, fresh air!! What a relief. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!
